Hey, Team Michigan!
Well, there’s certainly a lot happening in MI right now… From the State Supreme Court elections, to Rep. Slotkin’s race, to renewed concerns around Arab American voter turnout, it’s hard to know where to put your time or money. Given all this, the Michigan Democrats are doing a great job putting volunteers on the ground across the state and advocating for races up and down the ballot. Donating to them will ensure you’re supporting all of the key MI Dem candidates.
Another great starting place: Voters Not Politicians is hosting their statewide call this Sunday, October 13, from 7-8pm. They’ll be talking voter outreach, how to get involved, and will be answering any election involvement questions you may have. Sign up here!
You can also join Force Multiplier and the Rural Democracy Initiative in supporting pro-democracy groups in rural America on Thursday, October 17, from 7-8pm ET via Zoom. There will be some amazing speakers discussing how and why it’s so important to mobilize rural voters, particularly in PA, MI, and NC. Click here to donate and register for the event.
In terms of volunteering, the Harris Campaign is in need of voter protection help! Fill out this volunteer interest form if you want to protect voters at the polls and make sure ballots are being counted properly on election day.
Lastly, let us not forget that Vote Forward has two active letter writing campaigns in MI: one targeting Dem-leaning voters and convincing them to turn out, and another encouraging young, underrepresented Michiganders to vote. Write your letters now and send them by October 29. We’re in the final stretch for letter writing and postcarding before the election, so do what you can!
OK, that’s it for now. Thanks, all — keep doing what you’re doing.
