Hey, Team Michigan!
If you or anyone in your life is still figuring out how they plan to vote, which local measures to support, or really anything voting-related, check out the MI Dems’ new site, MIVoter.org! You can find tailored, address-specific voting info and recommendations from the Michigan Democratic party. This is the easiest way to make sure you’re familiar with everything and everyone on the ballot - from the State Supreme Court to your local sheriff. Click here to check it out, or click here for materials you can easily share with others to promote the site.  Â
Next up, Force Multiplier is highlighting six new candidates across the country who are poised to help flip the House, two of whom are Michiganders! Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08) is a MI State Senate veteran up against a MAGA extremist candidate, and Carl Malinga (MI-10) has supported his community in Macomb for 40 years as a prosecutor, judge, and attorney. He lost his race by an incredibly narrow margin in 2022 - less than half a percent.Â
Make a donation and register to hear either of these candidates speak. Carl Malinga will join two other US House candidates on Monday, September 30, from 8-9pm ET, and you can hear Sen. Rivet on Tuesday, October 1 from 7-8pm ET. By default your donation will be distributed evenly among the six candidates Force Multiplier is supporting, but you can customize this and only donate to Rivet and Malinga if you prefer.Â
Also, Rust Belt Rising has an awesome and innovative voter registration program targeting likely Dems in Michigan. They are sending pre-filled voter registration forms to potential voters (with postage included) and basically making it as easy as humanly possible for people to register. Sign up here to phonebank with them on Thursdays and Fridays and help this effort along.
Click here to check out some voter protection volunteering opportunities in MI. You can combat voter suppression as a poll challenger, hotline volunteer, volunteer recruitment phonebanker, etc. There are all sorts of in person and virtual options, all of which are incredibly important!!
Lastly, we are fast approaching the October 1 deadline for writing and sending out letters in Vote Forward’s voter registration campaign! This is the final push, and they are still in need of a significant amount of writers for MI. Click here for details.Â
Thanks, all! Keep up the good work. More soon.
