Hey, Team Michigan!
Hope you all had a nice, relaxing long weekend and are ready to get to work advocating for VP Harris! If so, here are a few opportunities to take a look at:
Sign up here to be put on For Michigan’s volunteer list and receive updates on how to get involved! For Michigan is a nonprofit putting in the work at college campuses around MI to get students registered to vote and advocate for the Harris-Walz campaign. They’re primarily focused on securing the youth vote, but will still have plenty of ways for Michiganders of all ages to participate and support their on-the-ground operations.Â
You can also join their relational texting program here! They’ll send you a prompt and instructions on how to reach out to your friends, family, and connections and talk to them about voting.
And/or check out these weekly voter mobilization textbanks from Mobilizing Michigan. Training is provided every Saturday on how to effectively recruit volunteers and share info about the upcoming election with MI voters via text. After you’re trained, you can keep texting on your own!Â
Also, rumor has it Joe Biden is coming to Ann Arbor this Friday… Details on time and location are yet to be announced, but look out for some more info from the White House soon.Â
That’s all for now, but expect to hear from me a bit more frequently as election season ramps up. Thanks, all!
Jess
Michigan loves Harris!!!
Thank you, Jess! This is good information for us Michiganders. I just got my instructions from our county chapter for how to train as a poll challenger. There are also several remote volunteer positions, such as phone voter support, recruiting, and oppo research. There is something for everyone’s aptitude and availability. Let’s get busy! We don’t want to wake up on November 6 wishing we had done more to overcome trump!
